The cruising to Halifax was a bit bumpy but we made it in good time by riding at 2200 rpm which is more than our usual 1600.

Our first assigned slip at the Queen wharf turned out not ideal as there were no water..and when you don't have shower available at a marina it's nice to have water. So we asked to move, and now we are in the heart of the waterfront with water. We went grocery shopping and went to a happy hour at a local place, nachos and ice cream and dinner was done!

August 24th: We visited the Maritime Museum. Beautiful maquettes, and well done explications from the various boats of the area, the rescue teams, the great explosion of 1917, the Mik'mak people, the steam engine, and the Cunard cruise line...and a parrot.

in the afternoon we walked up the Citadel and opted to go back next day to visit it as it was already close to four pm, instead we walked through the beautiful Public garden. In the evening we shared a drink with our friends Sylvia and Jim who had returned from a road trip to Fundy NP.

August 25th: Slow start. We went up the Citadel and witnessed the noon canon firing. We spent over four hours there. The Army museum, and the Citadel museum, and film..not to be missed. Later that day, Sandy, from the Yacht Shop, came to review with us the new install for a Garmin autopilot that we decided would be best to have now versus waiting a winter project. Our current one stopped working since Bouctouche and navigating without is making long stretches of navigation more involved than we would like. We are now scheduled for next week on Wednesday to have it done. So when we leave Friday morning, we will stay within a day of Shining Waters marina where the installation will be done, hopefully in one day. that means that we are staying in the Halifax area until September 1st. Update, we won't leave the area until the 17 of September.
