Around 2am Harvey and I were awake. Given that high tide at the bridge was at 4:24 am we decided to hit the water instead of waiting the afternoon tide. We left after 3am.

So we went through the East River and Hell's Gate at night at high tide and we had a nice push. Happy we went without through without a problem.

We are barely getting first light around 6:25am when we arrived at the level of Sandy Hook. Waves are in the 3 to 4 ft range. Weather is holding, with light wind.

Continued our trip to Atlantic city. NJ. When we passed Barnaget light around noon we thought we were a go for a stretch further South. We arrived mid tide in the Atlantic city inlet. Some rough waves but we were okay. They improved the channel to Brigantine and we were able to anchor there overnight. A long day, nearly 13 hours, but felt good to be a shorter hop to Cape May as rain was in the forecast.

We had to reset our anchor around 1:30am but otherwise the night was pretty good.
