Sunny and warm day, an easy four and an half hour trip to Cape May. Update on the autopilot: works somewhat, bof as we say in French. The Cape May Canal is a bit eary as it is shallow and we were arriving an hour before low tide, but we managed; a bit of a game of chicken through the last bridge...but we looked pretty assured and the boats waited for our passage. We found a good anchor near the Coranthian Yacht Club, close to the Coast Guard Base. The passing boats are not always respectful of the low wake zone, but we will live.

We took the dinghy to Utsch's Marina. They are so nice there, they let us put our dinghy at their fuel dock. From there we walked to town. The old Victorian homes and many hydrangeas in blooms made the walk very pleasant, but we got warm.. So our first stop was ice cream at Charley's. We walked through the streets bordered by Victorian style homes and ended up to the beach. Given that it was after 5pm, there was no entrance I guess, as normally Cape May beaches have an entrance fee. It was lovely to sink our toes in the sand, but we avoided the water as it was pretty cold. We stopped at Acme Supermarket, on our way back, there is always something we are running low on. Then walked back to the marina, ride back to the boat which was still there, :)) a quick diner on the boat, and now it is bed time.

Tomorrow: a five hour ride up to Atlantic City.
