From Rockland we decided to head to Monhegan Island. Hiking trails and vistas that inspired artists such as Andrew Wyeth who had a Summer home there.

We managed to get a mooring ball eventhough the space was already quite busy and we hadn't heard from the Harbor master (something that we often encountered lately). The southwest winds were stronger than we had hoped, but went ahead. We found the harbor master on the wharf. He told us that we were fine where we were. So we paid him 30 dollars and went for a wonderful hike through pine forest and followed the cliffs for incredible views. Rowing back around 5pm to the boat we got wet and rocked for the wakes and waves were even worse than when we had rowed to the island earlier.

We had a very rocky evening and didn't really fall asleep until the early hours when the wind finally changed to a North-west. We left in the morning to Boothbay Harbor.
