Pictou Island is not far from the shore, 11 nm, but has no electricity, or trash collection. Maybe 20 people live year round. It is popular for fishing particularly lobster trapping in May and June. The harbor is very small, most boats leave in the evening, so when you arrive at the harbor you need to find a rafting spot. Which is exactly what happened to us. Luckily, we were waved by a boater so we were able to raft with them. This was our first time ever doing it. It is okay, but we will need to be moving out early tomorrow morning so the boat we have rafted with can leave early to avoid the strong winds expected in Charlottetown where they are heading.

We rented bicycles and enjoyed a very nice beach on the East side of the island.
