Lockeport was a well protected harbor, and the question was how to time our crossing to Maine. After much calculations looking in particular at wave size, tide, and weather overall, we decided to leave Sunday evening Lockeport directly to Roque Island Maine. This meant an overnight trip, 100 nm..something we never did before.

So we took the plunge. Tide wise everything worked out well. we even were ahead of expected time of arrival. Given that Tuesday was again bit iffy, we took the decision to go further South and go to Desert Island instead of Roque Island with more possibilities once there. Another 46 nm and many lobster pots..glad we did as the winds were picking up as anticipated. Our friends Jim and Sylvia helped us as they suggested Southwest Harbor and a mooring ball there.

The harbourmaster couldn't be reach, but given their tip we knew what mooring ball color to select.

We were relieved to have done it. Time to share a beer of celebration:)
