Night was much better but in anticipation of more fowl weather we thought better than subjecting ourselves to a rocky night at the mooring ball in Southwest, so after fueling up at the marina nearby (what a nice price drop compared to Nova Scotia: over two dollars cheaper) we headed to Somes Sound for anchoring.

Somes sound is really beautiful and the only Fjord on the East coast of the US. We anchored in 13 ft and took our dinghy to the city dock. We took the bus to Jordan Pond to start a very nice hike in the park.

At Notheast bus stop we picked up a lunch take out, and once at Jordan lake sat admiring the view our wraps in hand. The hike was just what we needed after many days of stressing about autopilot not working right, of weather window calculations, and being behind the helm for hours.

We walked over three hours and enjoyed great vistas. We also missed the 4 pm pick up from the bus at Eagle lake...asked à few people for a ride and we really lucked out as a Franco-American couple who was returning to Bass Harbor dropped us of at Somesville. Very nice people. A two hours plus struggle back to the boat was avoided.

Nice evening on the boat, heavenly quiet and calm. Perfect.:)
