Tues. June 20th. It took us close to 6 hours to reach Barnegat Bay. The waves from the two feet expected ended up more like 5 ft. Well we managed, a bit roller coaster like ride, but happy to make it to Barnegat inlet at slack time.

We had envisioned sunny days at anchor and maybe a stralled on the beach...well that won't be that kind of stay. We chose to head instead to anchor on Forked River so we can get a protected spot for a few days as a strong wind blow is expected in the next 48hrs. So here we are, resting a bit and wondering if indeed the rain and thunderstorm forecasted are truely going to affect us further all the way to NEXT WEEK, shucks.

Wed June 21st, first day of Summer, who knew? still anchored on Forked River. Even up the river we are feeling the strong winds, but our boat is well anchored and we are monitoring on Windy app. We went this morning with our dinghy to a dock to get some supplies. Unhappily the choice were limited but we came back with a Wawa sandwich and pulled back up our dinghy before the wind really picked up. Looking for maybe moving up tomorrow afternoon...rain is persisting, who knows? We will keep you updated.

Thursday and Friday: Windy conditions with light rains, high 65 this Thursday but going up to 78 tomorrow. We moved our boat from our anchor to a marina on the north branch of the Forked River. We also wanted to take a nice warm shower, replenish our water tanks, get a pump out and recharge our boat batteries as without sunshine our solar panels are not producing enough. We are currently at the fuel dock for the night at Silver Cloud, should move tomorrow morning to Tall Oaks (same family owns both). We are hoping that the weather will be better than the one forecasted (ever the optimist) so that Saturday and Sunday we can anchor near Beach Island.
