July 22nd,

Arrived yesterday, we had to battle the current and wind to go for a pumpout and water refill. Happily we were helped by someone working at maintenance.

Last night we had a scare with our forward bilge pump going on unexpectedly. We weren't taking water, we think a switch issue. Stayed up for a bit until I was confident it wasn't starting again.

This morning, it was a bit windy but we weren't deterred in our plan. A marina let us us their dinghy dock for the day for free, and we had found out the schedule for the 10b bus near the marina to take us to East Hampton Village. Wonderful when things work out.

East Hampton is ritzy and famous for the glamorous people that shop in all the most expensive brands you can think of. Honestly it is a nice town with large tree lined avenues and of course the most incredibly beautiful estate one can think of.

We walked to the Main beach, had a jump in the water (big surf, great water), walked along the beach, spent 50 bucks for a lunch and got a free shuttle ride back to town. We stopped at the Stop and Shop for a small ice-cream and people watched..

We ended the day with a walk in a nearby park and some shoppings...not Chanel or Gucci mind you, grocery shopping at Stop and Shop and we bought a new toaster at the hardware store.

Then we waited for the bus back to Three Mile and our dinghy, those battery stopped working. We were lucky to have a nice family towing us back to our boat, otherwise Harvey had a good 20 mn rowing.

Very nice, calm and beautiful evening.

One for the record of great stops.
