August 1st

Anchored on the other side of the main harbor at Woods Hole. A bit concerned about getting a spot past the mooring field making going to town a bit of an ordeal. As the wind was calm we took the kayak to the nearby beach. The town has a large Oceanic lab and research campus and small town charm. Restaurants and costly grocery, but we splurged for two big muffins for tomorrow's breakfast. We enjoyed the visit to Woods Hole océanographique institute museum. We learned about the submersible that found the Titanic in 1985, as well as researches in the Artics, the very deep twilight zone...interesting. There is also a sculpture of Rachel Carson by the waterfront.

Can't post a picture of the beautiful supermoon tonight but wish I could.

August 2nd,

Since 2 am or so we have rocked, shakened and stirred. Not pleasant at all. In another word sleep deprived this morning. The waves are much worse than Windy indicated, we will a bit it subsides before moving North to anchor in Bassets Island.

Our anchor is holding fine and we are safe just uncomfortable.
